It's alive enough to love and quiet enough to forget. Every card below is a window, so the cats up top can come down and stand on them.
It finds the top edge of every window on screen and treats it as a ledge. It walks along title bars, hops from one to the next, and climbs down to the Dock. Drag the window it's sitting on and it rides along. Close it, and it drops to whatever's underneath.
It goes wide-eyed when you grab it and flies off with your cursor's real momentum. Hard landings bounce. Throw it really hard and it flops on its back for a second. It's fine. It's a cat.
Drag anything from Finder onto the cat and it stands up and holds it. Drag it back off its paws when you need it. A shelf with whiskers.
Throw a ball and every awake cat races for it. The winner carries it back to your pointer, drops it at your feet and waits.
Up to seven cats at once. They greet each other, copy each other, swat each other, and pile up to sleep.
Reminders arrive in person: the cat walks over and sits by your cursor. Click Done and it's gone.
Hunger, energy and joy drift through the day and steer what it does. Neglect makes it sleepy and a little sulky; one click fixes it. It can't die, can't run away, and never begs. Set each cat's mood:
Put down a bed and it'll find it at nap time. Furnish a whole little room and watch everyone move in. Drag anything into the corner to put it away.
Screen share in two minutes? Everything goes out of sight for half an hour, an hour, or until you call them back.
It reads the bounds of your windows, never their titles or contents, so macOS never asks for Screen Recording.
On first launch a cat walks in and offers a one-minute tour. Every button in it does what it says. “Throw a ball” throws one. “Call my friends” brings two cats running in. “Set one up” furnishes a room and sends everyone to explore it.
The cat gets calmer the harder you work. Typing, it settles and watches. Leave the mouse for a while and it loosens up. Walk away and it goes home to sleep. No macOS permissions needed: it only looks at when you last pressed a key.
Real cats sleep through half the day. So does this one: about 40% of its time on screen, mostly at noon and at night. Here's the day it's built around.

A focus session. It curls up with a timer and holds every reminder. At the end, a stretch and a dance.
