The app

Miso runs entirely on your Mac. It has no account, makes no network connections and collects no analytics. To work, it looks at where your windows are (never what's in them) and when you last typed (never what you typed). Its settings and cats are saved on your Mac only; Settings › About › Reset Everything erases them.

Buying

Polar processes your payment details as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy. Polar passes us your email, name, country, order and licence key. We use them to deliver Miso, give support and handle refunds (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and keep them as long as tax law requires (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

This website

The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps short-lived server logs of your IP address, the time, the page and your browser, to run the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). There are no cookies, no analytics and no third-party content. Your browser only remembers whether you turned the lights off.

Emails

If you email us, we use your message to reply.

Transfers abroad

We're based in Australia, and Polar and Vercel may process data in the USA. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; otherwise we rely on the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, restrict or object to its use, by emailing hello@speaka.app. You can also complain to your data protection authority in the EU, the ICO in the UK or the OAIC in Australia.
